Goodbyes Are Hard

We had our dear 17 year old cat, Blizzard, put down this morning. She was just suffering too much. I had hoped she would pass on her own this weekend, but it just didn't happen. She came to us the winter we built our house, during a snowstorm. She was looking into our family room from the deck. My husband brought her in and she stayed.

Good-bye Blizz, you old cookie thief and video game companion. Terror of the kitty and dog world and snuggler  to the rest of us.

There is an empty space here now. We will miss you.

No more words, P.

My heart goes out to you. I recently had to euthanize my fur baby - bloggers wrote me so many nice things - the one that stuck out to me and touched my heart - "We bring pets into our lives knowing it will be for a much shorter period than we would like it to be yet we do it any way. That must say something about how important they are to us." My thoughts are with you.....

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love for our furry family is a comfort and a sadness all at the same time.

So sorry about your kitty. What a great life he had after moving in with your family. I miss my Otis...we lost him a few years ago. I know it's hard. Loved seeing the photos of him.

My heart breaks for your loss. Blizzard was surely welcomed into the best 17 years of her life that winter day.

AAAWW, I am so sorry and I know how you feel. We had to put our 17 year old papillion down one year ago this month.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Tasha in November and I still cry everytime I let myself think about her, although it is becoming easier to remember the good things rather than feel the hole she left in my heart and life. Strangely, I find comfort in a saying I read this past year--"the cost of love is grief". Feel good about the loving home you provided and enjoy al those precious good memories.

My sympathies on the loss of Blizzard. As difficult as it is to lose one of our furry friends it's so worth having them in our lives.
