I may be missing in action for a bit, at least until my posting of the give-away winner on Saturday...
In the interest of being real I thought I would share these pictures with you. All is not always perfection in the Frippery house. (Mostly not as a matter of fact) My son has decided to move home. Woo Hoo, I have my baby back for a while longer. However, this is the reality of my entry today...His room mate decided to move to California, so a swift hiring of a rental truck and tada... I have two couches, a dresser and a chair in my already full garage, plus everything else going to his as yet unremodeled bedroom.
I had the bedroom on my list of projects, mind you. But, not until after my Bunco party NEXT WEDNESDAY! So... last night we rented a carpet steamer and today I am stripping a border, filling holes and hopefully tonight we will paint.
The stair hallway was also loaded up but we managed to sort this out last night. Goodwill is going to be hoppin' soon.
This is real life, not perfection, but the happy, good, and inconvenient all rolled into one. His room has been this color since about 5th grade. I have wanted to change it many times but Joe wasn't interested. I have been looking forward to a reinvention this January. Be careful what you wish for. This is now on the front burner as he has been sleeping on the couch for a few days. I'm sure the Bunco gals wouldn't mind a good looking 21 year old joining the group but that ain't happenin'! A mom has to have her outside life after all.
Therefore I will hopefully be posting a mostly finished room by Saturday. Then on to my Bunco prep. (I had big ideas for some more first floor painting and sprucing, but the best laid plans...)
On to the paint choice. Joe has decided he will be staying at home for a while. I gave him a choice of paint colors, bright greens per his request. He chose the one below. Behr Limeade. It will be interesting to see this color on the walls. It isn't quite as shocking as it looks in this picture. I took one in different light , below this one, and it looks totally different.
My son was watching the HGTV Dream House show with me and really liked the master bedroom color. This color is very similar to what the paint in the HGTV house looks like in pictures but in reality the paint sample they used looks like pale green blue. We are going for the cheerful, bright look of the pictures we saw online. So wish me luck, I will be nose to the grindstone for a bit. I'll miss you! Check back this weekend and don't forget to leave a comment on my give away post. (OH OH... gotta get some time in the art room as well:)
Sometimes the best way to get something done is under pressure.
Have a glowing Wednesday, P.
