Consciously taking notice of the gifts each day places in our path.

My turn to host Bunco is over for the year. All the prep and now, today, the clean up after the clean up. All that sprucing just to make a mess. I did get some photos right before everyone arrived. I am so tired today I ended up posting them in the opposite order from the way I wanted them. Oh well, it will do. I have no pictures of the actual Bunco game because, as you girls who play know, it moves way too fast for any camera action. We did have a blast though. My theme was New Year and a bit of winter. My snowman plates were fitting as it started to snow about 45 minutes before everyone was due to arrive. We had one girl cancel at the last minute so , guess what? My husband Joe is now a sub!
I think he really enjoyed his Bunco experience. He even got a Bunco and he won a prize. Too funny.
In the New Year tradition I served a Rueben casserole with sauerkraut and a black eyed pea salad. Plus lots of appetizers and cake and ice cream for dessert. I also made champagne punch. I forgot to take a picture of the punch bowl, it was so pretty.
I set up my three tables in the family room, cafe style. White burlap was used for the table toppers. I think the girls got a kick out of Joe playing with us. My son was in the basement and said that at first all he heard were the women laughing and yelling, then he started hearing his dad yelling too. He definitely got caught up in the Bunco spirit.
I suppose we will have to add him to our sub list now.
It is so nice to have a tidy house, even if only for an evening.
Back to clean up. It was fun while it lasted.

Have a tidy Thursday, P.

Yea!!! It looks beautiful. You can tell me, I won't tell anybody. You didn't get a shot of the punchbowl cause it was emptied fast, right? Watch out Joe or you'll have lace on your underwear like Cat Daddy! Pam, you've been missed. Debbie

Oh, Pam. I love it! The reds and blues and snowflakes...your photos are wonderful, capturing the calm before (and after) the storm. It sounds like a good time was had by all. Joe included! Congrats on what looks to have been a wonderful gathering. ~Mindy

That sounds like too much fun. I am trying to get together with my co-workers from my last job and I think that would be a great way to get together once a month.

Pam, I just stumbled upon your blog. What lovely pics of the "Before" party. So lovely. I'm sure cleaning up will take a few days, especially if you had as much fun as you did!

Take care,
